Here you will see photos of some of the projects I have worked on both solo and in collaboration with others. I am proud of my accomplishments and I am always excited to take on new challenges!
Contact meAllow me to introduce myself...
I am a Canadian born woman currently living in Europe. I discovered woodworking at the age of 27 back in 2012 when I enrolled in the Fine Woodworking program at the École des Métiers du Meuble de Montréal in Montéal, Québec. Before deciding to study woodworking I was not sure where my professional life was headed. I have always enjoyed physical, active work. I value being outside at least some of the time, maybe not for extended periods during the Canadian winters! I wanted to be able to work independently but not necessarily alone. I was also searching for a way to let my creative and artistic sides develop. Woodworking has been the perfect environment for these aspects to come together.
Since the completion of the program in Montréal and with my diploma in hand I have been continuing to explore this vocation while working in Canada, France and Belgium.
I am a curious, hardworking, positive person. I have a real lust for life and learning. I approach woodworking with a profound respect and admiration for it's role in the development of our society as we know it today. There are no limits to where this life will lead me. I know I will be building things until the end!
In 2019 I was hired by Pascal Lazarus through his asbl La Bonneterie in collaboration with the RAJ (Réseau Animation Jeunes de Saverne) to participate in "Le Champs des Possibles" (The Field of Possibilites").
Over the course of one week we worked with a group of young people ages 9-14. RAJ gave us all materials to build whatever our imaginations could come up with. The only conditions: It had to be a permanante structure that would sit on a piece of land the RAJ had access to thanks to the town of Marmoutier, France.
The youth from the town of Tourpes, Belgique, had gotten together with
Pascal Lazarus and his asbl [_La Bonneterie_](https://www.facebook.com/labonneterieleuze/) and the plans were made to build
a Skateparc. I was lucky enough to be part of the team!
My first solid oak door.
Three coats of stained wax finish.
The moment of proud placement.
This is a antique door I installed in an appartment in Saint Gilles, Brussels (Belgium).
This project was a collaboration with Abaque Architecture.
The building of sliding doors for the same Saint Gilles appartment.
The installation at the clients home.
This project was a collaboration with Abaque Arcihtecture.
A round door for a kerterre made out of douglas pine.
The design for some sliding doors begins....
Gluing in the woodshop.
And the final result !
I had the wonderful opportunity to replace four windows on this wooden caravan. As you can see they were in a sorry state....
Voilà ! Face lift !
I placed an old wooden door that I first sanded and cut to size so that it would fit in the space left by the old one.
Three sliding doors built out of douglas pine with a dark oak finish seen here installed on the terrasse where they will provide extra shade for the house in the summer.
A sliding door I built using meranti plywood pannels inside a larch frame.
I made this gate out of douglas pine to match the new siding on this clients' house.
Using recycled wood I made these two planter boxes for a roof-top garden in Ixelles, Brussels (Belgium).
I finished the sidingon this house in Schaerbeek, Brussels. I nailed untreated, thin, larch boards over the spaces at the joints of the burnt larch siding.
This project was a collaboration with François Schulz.
I built new shutters for this houses' doors and windows out of douglas pine with a dark-oak varnish.
I helped build this house from the ground up. Foundation, structure, slate roof, insulation, siding,.....everything!
This project was a collaboration with Les Ateliers De La Grève Blanche.
